About Spiegelsaal
We are a studio for illustration, design and screen printing.
Spiegelsaal is Torsten Jahnke and Jochen Mönig.
Most of our work is connected to music. We make official gig posters for bands, artists and festivals, and work with their teams and merch partners on limited screenprinted editions. We also make our own prints — sometimes related to music, sometimes to film, pop culture or whatever catches our interest.
We do the work ourselves, from the first sketch to the finished print. That is important to us.
Screen printing is a hands-on process. We separate the colours, prepare the screens, choose the paper and print every sheet by hand. The process leaves its mark — small variations in colour, registration and texture are part of the finished print.
Jochen works mainly on the illustration and artwork from his studio in Düsseldorf.
Torsten focuses on type, layout and print production, working between Hamburg and Berlin. Together, we develop the artwork, prepare the prints and handle the production of our editions.
Our posters are made to be sold at shows, collected, framed and kept. Editions range from a few dozen prints to larger runs. Once an edition is sold out, it remains part of our archive.
We have been making this kind of work for years, working with bands and festivals across Europe and beyond. We are founding members of the Posterkrauts and members of the Poster Institute. Torsten is Poster Institute board member responsible for the Flatstock in Hamburg, Germany.

Torsten Jahnke
Typography, Design & Screen Printing
Torsten works on typography, design and screen printing. He develops the visual ideas together with Jochen and takes care of the preparation and production of the printed editions.
Jochen Moenig
Illustration & Printmaking
Jochen works on illustration and artwork at Spiegelsaal. He works closely with Torsten on the visual concepts and brings his background in illustration and printmaking to the projects.
